Purpose and Audience
1. he was telling where he was and telling us basically what he's talking about.
2. he saying that the clergymen were people who genuinely sought to do good. Its ironic because at first he's all nice then later becomes the opposite.
3. His repetition of "us" , "we", & " you" kind of makes the reader assume that his audience is the clergymen and others.
4. the thesis is weak and vague. Bt i think it would be MJ saying why he's writing the letter and telling about his location.
Style and Structure
1. this letter entirely
2. about midway in the the letter
3. moreover, then, now, but, in spite of , perhaps
4. it supports his opinion and to show how this problem is widespread nationally
5.
7. He starts sweet talking and his tone has calmed. He also ask them to accept his apology if his letter is "overstating the truth and indicating an unreasonable impatience". He wants peace and for them to get along.Yes i think he is successful in doing this.
